Dr. (Prof.) Uma Shankar Sharma 'Hrishi,' the former Head of the Department of Sanskrit at Patna University, stands as a distinguished critic, thinker, and prominent scholar in the field of literature. Recognized for his significant contributions to Sanskrit Literature, he has received commendation from the President of India. Dr. Sharma's scholarly pursuits are exemplified in numerous notable books, including "RK-Sukta-Nikarah," a comprehensive study of selected hymns from the Rigveda, "Mimamsa-Darshnam," an exploration of the Tarkapada of Mimamsa Sutras with Shabara Bhasya, "Harishchandra Upakhyanam," and "Sanskrit Sahitya Ka Itihas," among others. Currently holding academic memberships at both Banaras Hindu University and Delhi University, Dr. Sharma's expertise is widely acknowledged. In 2014, he represented India at the Vishwa Sarwa-Dharm Sammelan organized in Japan, showcasing his global engagement in academic discourse.
